In light of the recent tragedy in Connecticut we have decided to cancel the invitation giveaway and give the money to the Sandy Hook School Support Fund and a few of the private funds that have been set up by the victims families.
After reading the statements by Emilie Parker’s father, a 6 year old beautiful little girl that was taken from us to soon, our hearts broke. Her father stated that she loved to make cards for people to make them smile. It was at this moment, we knew that we needed to find some way to help and support those in need.
I hope you can find it in your hearts to know how much this means to us and I hope you too will donate to some of these amazing funds set up to help the families of the victims (see links below).
Because we had so many wonderful entries into our giveaway and so many amazing brides we would like to extend a 10% discount on your next custom order to any bride that was nominated.
May god bless those little angels and heroes who have been taken away too soon and the families, friends, and loved ones that have been affected by this horrible tragedy.

Mason Jar Save the Date (foil print)

Joanie + Todd 5.25.12

Joanie and Todd were married at the beautiful Boone Hall Plantation in Charleston, South Carolina. The wedding took place on the cotton dock and the entire wedding reflected the couple’s personality right down to the cocktail straws that guests adorned in mason jars during the ceremony.

Having a destination wedding on a holiday weekend the couple decided to make it a 3 day event with a newlywed craw fish boil to kick off their new lives as husband and wife. We knew their would need to be a lot of different pieces with lots of information for their guests. We wanted to come up with a way to make it all fit together in one beautiful package. We started off using cardstock as our pocket fold invitation but it needed something more… I wanted the invitations to reflect not only the couple’s personalities but the simplistic elegance of the location.

After much trial and error we decided to use linen fabric instead of cardstock  and hand stitched the edges to create an invitation that un-folds into a pocket invitation.  We topped it off with a lace garnish to pull in that beautiful vintage feel the bride was wanting to achieve. The Bride asked for simple yet unique and elegant yet under-stated. It was such an honor to work with Joanie on her invitations, and cocktail straws to achieve a look that reflected her elegant vision.

Kelsie + Braden — Pencil Us In Save the Dates

I have to say that since I have started this business, this was probably one of my most exciting projects. While I love to do the rustic inspired invitations and mix in different elements such as fabrics, lace, twine, etc… It was so much fun to try something new and mix things up a bit. Braden and Kelsie went to school with my husband and they have known each other for years! When I moved here after mine and Kevin’s engagement this wonderful couple (who has been together for years) welcomed me with open arms and treated me like I’ve lived here all my life. This was such a huge relief because moving from a big city like Houston to a small town in Southern Indiana can be a challenge. Kelsie and I have become very good friends over the past couple for years and I commend her for how supportive she is of Braden. He has been in vet school in Purdue for the past few years while she has stayed here and worked and planned  her wedding. It can’t be easy being away from someone you love for that long but they make it work and to be honest I think they love each other more and more every day.

For their save the dates we wanted to do something fun and upbeat but also very different. We used an engagement picture on the front (they are fabulous by the way! props to Chris Berneking for such an awesome job!) and on the back we printed their wedding date, a calendar and used pencils for the “pencil us in” look. Held on with some washi tape and these little beauties were a huge hit! I can’t wait to post pictures of their wedding invitations! Thank you Kelsie and Braden for letting me create the first visual that your guests will see of your upcoming amazing wedding! We can’t wait to share in your big day!

Rustic Luxe Save the Dates

I was contacted by Casey(bride) to create a save the date that not only reflected the look she wants for her wedding, but also something that reflected her and Jeremy (groom) as a couple. They are getting married at Vinewood in Newnan, Georgia . The pictures of this venue are absolutely amazing … (makes me wish I could get married all over again!) We created these save the dates with a Rustic Luxe look. Think barn wedding with champagne and chandeliers; very elegant and classy with a rustic edge. The bride also wanted something her guests could keep as a memento of their upcoming nuptials. Thus, we created these little beauties. Linen save the dates, with detailed stitching around the edges; screen printed with the couples name, wedding date, and oak tree on the front. We wanted to keep the front simple and elegant so the wedding guests could frame them. On the back we attached a black and white card with detailed information about their event. The bride needed to make her guests aware of certain things prior to sending out her formal invitations such as accommodations and other things due to the fact that the hotel books up very quickly. It was such an exciting project, and I was so thrilled to be a small part of this wonderful couple’s upcoming wedding.

Save the dates are becoming such a popular trend for weddings. More often than not most brides go for the plain magnet look, or postcard save the date. While these are fabulous and can turn out very cute, it’s time we took the art of save the dates to a whole new level. Abbey came to me wanting a few different elements involved in her save the dates. She wanted them to be magnets, she wanted to have them double as christmas cards, and she wanted to include as many of her fabulous engagement pictures as possible. Dianna Chandler with is an amazing photog. and captures so much personality in her pictures.

Abbey and Marty’s save the dates were created to be mailed out in mini kraft box mailers. An address label was wrapped around the top with the return address printed on the side and the guest address printed across the top. It was almost as if their guests were receiving a little gift in the mail. When opened the save the date un-folded accordion style with pictures on both the top and bottom sections and wording in the middle. On the back we attached magnets so it was easy to hang on the refrigerator and keep as a reminder of their upcoming wedding!

Thank you Abbey and Marty for letting us create these little gems for you! We wish you both a lifetime full of laughter together!
